Satisfy Your Soul

So, it's been a month since I said "goodbye" to some old friends, but sadly I have to admit they weren't gone very long. I had to rethink my drastic "peace out" approach. It's hard to break old habits by going cold turkey. Instead I'm choosing to keep them around, but I've also invited Will Power to the party. When Will shows up, Moderation does too!

I don't believe in depriving oneself. For what? Life brings enough challenges, so why would you go and add to the list by not doing what makes you happy? Of course I'm talking about healthy actions that uplift. I'm not condoning you haul off and snort coke, lie, cheat, steal and sleep with everyone in sight in the name of happiness. No Honey.

When you get a whiff of McDonald's fries and have to have it, then order a small and take the stairs instead of the elevator. Cravings are real body urges. There is a belief that when you are craving certain foods, then it means your body is in need of something. Apparently when you crave chocolate your body is needing magnesium. There are healthy ways to get magnesium such as raw nuts and fruits, but I'd prefer to have a fun sized Twix and wear a smile! If you have an itch, scratch it! If you're thirsty for knowledge, then read a book. Craving adventure? Get out of the building and make it happen. You want love in your life, then give it!

Now, I'm my own work in progress, but I've come to realize that I'm to blame for making life harder than it needs to be. I'm working on moderation, reducing stress and choosing happiness, healthy choices, expressing my true feelings no matter the repercussions, stepping out on faith, loving myself and all the flaws, and not being my own worse enemy. Tomorrow is never promised, so today...choose to be happy, satisfy your soul, live in love and give someone your smile. It's all dee-licious fun!!

Peace.
